Trusted on the Battlefield
Built to Perfection, Honed in the Harshest Conditions
Many times over the last decade the military has approached Excellon with very urgent needs to supply critical components to areas of need. It started In 2009, as the buildup of forces increased in Afghanistan, many Mine Resistant Armored Protected (MRAP) vehicles were rushed to the battlefield, and some of them arrived without the necessary equipment, including the VRCU (Vehicular Remote Control Unit) accessory equipment for use with the SINCGARS radio system. Without this accessory equipment, the soldier would be subjected to the battlefield elements by being required to exit the vehicle to change radio frequencies, putting them in greater harm.
As Solution Specialists we leaped into action, in less than a week we went from request to process capable fabrication, testing, and delivery, ensuring that the MRAPs were online and able to protect ground forces.
We received a letter of appreciation from the Army Colonel Program Manager, thanking us for the work. You can see the letter here
It has never stopped and as recent as June of 2020 A request came in from L3HARRIS. We received notice of need on a Thursday afternoon, with little information, and incomplete drawings. So, engineering brought 22 of our associates together and worked 16-hour days including the weekend and shipped all product on the following Tuesday (5 days) meeting the need with all perfect parts. You can see the letter here
That’s what we do. Go above and beyond, because we know who we serve. Let us be your Solution Specialists
